The pathway

Train intentionally. Build experience. Develop toward credentialed practice.

Dream’s STAR pathway is designed for motivated people who may not have a traditional sleep-technology degree but have the intelligence, reliability, work ethic and patient skills to become excellent technologists.

This is professional formation — not merely a quick orientation. Candidates must obtain the clinical experience and satisfy the credentialing requirements that apply to the BRPT pathway they pursue.

What Dream provides

  • Structured sleep-technology education
  • 80+ hours of in-person lecture and hands-on skills training
  • Competency assessment and supervised clinical development
  • Real sleep-lab exposure and technical repetition
  • Support toward applicable BRPT credential pathways
The kind of person we want

Potential matters. Work ethic matters more.

We may find future technologists inside healthcare already — a great MA, patient-care teammate or other hard-working employee who simply has not had the formal pathway yet.

Reliable

Night work and patient care demand consistency.

Curious

The best techs want to understand the physiology, not just memorize steps.

Self-directed

Training provides structure; the learner still has to own the learning.

Important

Clear language about credentialing.

Does STAR designation mean a trainee is automatically credentialed?

No. STAR designation applies to the education program. BRPT independently determines eligibility and certification, and candidates must satisfy the requirements for the credentialing pathway they pursue.

Where can I verify the program?

Dream Sleep Center is listed by BRPT as Focused STAR provider F020. Use the BRPT STAR program list linked below to verify the current listing.

Paid STAR trainee · Dream Sleep Center

The paid trainee pathway combines approximately six months of structured education and supervised clinical experience in our Pueblo and Colorado Springs sleep laboratories. Night work and in-person participation are part of the role.

Paid training and career development

Trainee wage: $20 per hour during the approximately six-month training program. The full-time pathway includes supervised clinical work and structured education.

The planned progression after successful training is approximately $32 per hour during the following 24-month employment commitment, then approximately $40 per hour after two years of experience, subject to the agreed program terms, required competencies, and responsibilities.

Training includes a tuition and repayment agreement tied to the employment commitment. We review the full costs, responsibilities, and written terms with you before enrollment. Program completion and examination eligibility are separate; BRPT determines credentialing requirements.
